July Event

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am pleased to welcome you to the first event Hermes co-organises with iPADIS for the African region. Hermes has already a long-standing close collaboration with the major organizations in Africa, namely AFCAC, AFRAA (an Hermes partner), and AASA. As in every region of the world, Africa has been affected by COVID-19.

Therefore, Resilience and Efficiency through Leadership and Cooperation are key for the future of the region. In our event today, we have the participation of the President of ICAO, the Director-General of ACI, and African major stakeholders, AFCAC, AFRAA, AASA & ACI Africa.

Finally, I would like to thank Professor Andreas Papatheodorou, Hermes Committee Member and Professor at the University of Aegean Greece, for providing the Zoom platform and finally ATN – Air Transport News for being the media partner of the event.

Welcome
Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu

July Event

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

iPADIS believes that every community around the world should enjoy the immense socio-economic benefits of a safe, secure, and sustainable aviation system.

Clearly, the African region has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the biggest, single challenge ever to international air transport. In response, iPADIS is actively fostering partnerships among key stakeholders of the air travel and tourism sectors in Africa, to help identify and implement practical solutions, and to develop long-term strategies for resilient civil aviation systems throughout the continent.

We are pleased to co-organize with Hermes this timely meeting, which builds on the recent successful High-Level Ministerial Meeting for the West African States hosted by iPADIS, in collaboration with Nigeria, AFCAC, and ECOWAS, and with the active participation of all other regional bodies in Africa. This latest meeting also furthers the objectives of the MoUs concluded by iPADIS with ICAO, AFCAC, and Hermes.
